Pasta Meat Sauce

1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 t. oregano
16 oz. (or more tomato puree)
16 oz. (or more whole tomatoes)
1 bay leaf
1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
1 T. sugar (or more to taste)
salt & pepper to taste

Simmer onions, beef, and garlic.
Drain grease.
Add all other ingredients and simmer uncovered for at least 4 hours or more depending upon your preferred thickness.
